Location: Northborough, MA

Description: The Embedded Firmware Engineer will be involved in the firmware design process from concept to production. An ambitious and versatile individual is sought to provide embedded programming for advanced digital audio products. You will be responsible for writing software for device drivers, task manager, control algorithms, and networking protocols. You will also develop SW tools to automate the software build process and system design.

Responsibilities Include:

• Develop system architecture and APIs.
• Code in micro-controller assembly
• Code in C programming language
• Run code tests in simulator and on hardware
• Validate code operation & functionality
• Code in scripting languages for tools (Perl, TCL, make, etc)
• Keep responsible version control in CVS
• Basic electronics proficiency

Experience Skills Required / Preferred:

Candidates must have a solid electronics background as well as software development. Software experience should include embedded coding practices, task and data management and task scheduling. Knowledge of C and embedded C coding is essential. Experience with some of the following is preferred: I2C, SPI, RS232 communications drivers, boot of remote processors, low level networking protocol implementation. Knowledge of Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST), Ethernet AVB, CobraNet or other digital audio networking protocols and interfaces is beneficial, but not required.

Education Required / Preferred: BSEE required. 2-6 years experience.
